Greatest Stuff on Earth My Ass!
Did you ever pat yourself on the back, for getting a Snapple with lunch or dinner rather than a soda? Well I have, and the other morning while getting a Sunday morning doughnut, I said lets be a little healthy and have a Snapple since all they had was orange juice from concentrate. Happily I walked home with the dog, drinking my ever so tasty Snapple, when I stopped and started to read the label. Barely visible in the top left of the front side, I noticed it, and you know what "it" was? It said "5% Juice". Now how can something that is made from the "Greatest stuff on Earth" be ONLY 5% juice. Unless there is a 6 foot 4 Greek god with wash board abs, biceps I can hang a coat on, and an ass I can put a shelf on these people are LIARS!! To add insult to injury, when telling my Apple Genius Bar consultant the story, he laughed and said "I know". Apparently he sent them a letter asking what "natural flavors" are? And if you check the label there it is plain as day as an ingredient "natural flavors". He received a letter back with a large amount of coupons with the quote "natural flavors are flavors that were derived from natural things". Come on! In this day and age where we are living in the most obese, short life spanned country in the world, these people are allowed to advertise there drinks as being from "The Greatest Stuff on Earth". So as far as I am concerned I either want a picture of the Adonis mixing chemicals into a big cup, as he pours in "natural flavors", or I am going to dedicate my life to telling people how bad Snapple really is for you. I said in the title and I will say it again, Greatest stuff on earth my ASS!

Yogi Bear
I feel as though we elected Rambo and instead got Yogi Bear. Why are we still at this impasse? Shouldn’t this be the time where we look under every rock, and seriously fix the system? In our prosperous years we allowed the federal government to grow to the point where like GM it is now inefficient. There is more redundancy in our government on both the federal and state levels than ever before. Where the teachers union in my state has more power than the govenor. This is all of our faults really, between most of us being uniformed voters who choose sides without bothering to read the truth for ourselves. I once heard Bill Maher ask, and I am paraphrasing here, that my generation isn’t as pissed off as it should be. And he’s right! Our environment has suffered at the hands of the oil companies, our taxes that are to pay for public services sit in the retirement accounts of state and federal employees. Why is it fair that some of us, those that are seen to be working menial jobs, get to retire with a large portion of pay and full health and benefits? I don’t get it, they make the same amount of money that I do, and I don’t have those benefits and I never will. My thinking is that either we all join unions and everything is standardized, yes republicans that would be a communist society, or we end this half assedness and disband the unions and truly have a free market society. I am all for helping those people in need, but what about the sponges on the system, what about the women who have more children just so they can get more money in welfare? Let us truly fix this system, I want a mandatory audit of all state and federal agencies ordered and demanded by the president. I want every school system in the country audited to find out why there are more school administrators than children in the class rooms. Yes healthcare is important and I want Obama’s agenda to pass but we cannot put another brick on top of this ruined foundation, fix the system and then add to it. Can the democrats and the republicans please at least agree on that? And could you maybe start playing nice in the sandbox? All this back stabbing, undermining and grandstanding have led us here and I think that we can all agree this just sucks. So come on Obama give me something more than just your wonderful speeches to remember you by, it’s time to clean house, and those of us that voted for you are still waiting on you to take that all important step in the right direction.

To Tell or Not to Tell?
What would you do? If you found out something, that was a violation of trust and respect, that your best friends partner was doing, would you tell? Do you make the decision to tell them and run the risk that you will forever alter their life as they know it by telling them a devastating secret that only you can tell? Or do you continue to let them live the lie believing that nothing is wrong?
In all honesty I don't know. I mean I know that deep down no matter how much it hurt that I would want to know, because it is my right to know, because it is my life and no one else's? Shouldn't I have the right to know if someone is lying to me? Don't I have the right to direct my own life no matter how hard I have had it in the past?
At the end of the day I believe that people rise to the challenge, and that as is our human right, we will defend ourselves. That we will prosper rather than whimper in the corner like a beaten dog, we will do whatever it takes to make sure that we survive.
I hope and I pray that if something like this happens to me, that my dearest friend would say something to me, because the pain of finding out that my dearest friend allowed a lie to be perpetuated for a long time would be even worse than finding out about the actual problem, no matter how insurmountable it may be. I deserve the right to run my life and to gather as much information to make my own decisions.

The Waiting Room
Is it just me or are more women waiting around for Mr. Right? Could it be the over abundance of women in the world? Or could it be that while our mothers were burning their bras the men were burning their briefs. It is almost as if when women, said we want more opportunities than just getting married and pumping out babies, that men said well if you want options then I get them too damnit! And if I really think about how many couples I see that are really, truly in love, in all honesty there aren’t many. Most of them look like they settled right into it, and those folks are the ones that end up divorced after two kids and the house in the suburbs. I am sure everyone has friends like these, you know the people that are college sweethearts. I know this sounds bad but I would stack their years of togetherness and supposed love, against a man who cheated on his wife and then left her for the same woman he cheated with. I mean think about it, he actually took the time to deconstruct the life that he had carefully planned with another. Now I am not saying that true love can only be born out of sacrifice, or that you can’t recognize it if you haven’t felt the pain of rejection, in any form, whether from a no-call dude or a man who has walked away. But you have to admit it certainly makes it easier to recognize.
I think the rest of us that are here in this waiting room are the ones that are waiting for the fairytale. So is it better to be in the waiting room or one of the settlers?
Honestly I have no idea, but what I do know is that I am done waiting, I am done thinking about this problem. Maybe I will die with 50 dogs and cats, but it has to be better than the hell of deconstructing your life with someone that you settled for. And for those of you settlers that are sleeping on a Sunday night, while I tap away on my laptop, I know you think you got the better end of the stick. But I would also bet that you didn’t get laid and that your wife or husband has their back to you and you to them. At the end of the day as I snuggle down with my cat and dog, at least I know the only thing that would make them leave is death, because lets face it there love is the easiest unconditional love anyone will ever find or have.
So in my first post of the new year, Good Luck to both the settlers and the waiting room crowd, because like the Obama campaign I believe in Change as well.
